Solar leads for UK installers, from the best roofs in your area.
Solar Mailshot grades every roof in your territory, removes the homes that won't convert, and posts each homeowner a personalised letter about their own roof.
Why do most solar leads disappoint?
The short answer: most solar leads are an enquiry that other installers are chasing as well, or a click you paid for in an auction. You pay for the contact, not for a home that suits solar.
UK sources put shared leads at around £15 to £50 each, sold to several installers at once, and Google Ads at £80 to £250 per lead. See our full breakdown in what solar leads really cost in 2026.
Solar Mailshot starts from the roof instead. You choose a territory, we show you every home graded for solar, and you decide which ones to write to.
How Solar Mailshot generates solar leads
Search your territory
Enter a postcode or target up to 30 miles around a point. Every roof is graded A+, A, B or C from LiDAR roof data.
We remove what will not convert
Flats, council homes, listed buildings, commercial property, homes with existing solar and poor roof shapes are removed before you pay.
We print and post
Each homeowner gets a personalised letter showing their own roof from above with panels drawn on, under your branding.
Homeowners contact you
The letter carries your details and a QR code, so interested homeowners come to you.
Shared leads, ads and leaflets compared
| Shared leads | Google and Meta ads | Leaflet drops | Solar Mailshot | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who else is chasing it | Often 3 to 5 other installers | Competitors bidding on the same terms | Nobody, but it goes to every door | Mailed homes are reserved for you for 6 months |
| What you pay for | A contact | Clicks, then leads | Delivery to every door | A printed, posted letter to a graded roof |
| Targeting | Whoever enquired | Keywords and audiences | Round by round | Roof by roof, graded A+ to C |
| Wasted on homes that can't buy | Varies | Varies | Most of it | Non-viable homes removed before you pay |
Letters cost more per piece than a leaflet. That is why the viability check matters: you spend on the roofs most likely to suit solar.
What it costs
Credits currently cost between £1.30 and £2.50 each, and one credit pays for one printed and posted letter. Bigger packages cost less per letter. There is no subscription, no contract and no minimum commitment. Pricing is provisional while fulfilment costs and VAT are confirmed.
As simple arithmetic, not a forecast: a typical 4kW installation is worth around £7,000, and a system with a battery £10,000 to £14,000. At the top rate of £2.50 per letter, one £7,000 install is the revenue from 2,800 letters. Revenue is not profit, so work out your own margin before you plan a campaign.
What Solar Mailshot is, and is not
Solar Mailshot is not a lead marketplace. We do not sell enquiries. You choose properties and commission your own campaign, and each home you mail is reserved for you for 6 months and removed from every other installer's search on Solar Mailshot.
It also does not guarantee leads or jobs. Results depend on your area, your offer and how quickly you follow up enquiries. Start with a small campaign, ask every enquiry how they found you, and measure cost per installed job. If you want the lowest-risk first test, use Tell the Neighbours.
