Solar Mailshot. A new way to generate highly targeted solar leads. Built for proactive installers who want to choose where their next jobs come from. Pick your targeted territory, and we grade every roof in it, so you can see which homes are the best fit for solar. With a traditional leaflet drop, every door gets one. We cut the waste. Flats, council homes, listed buildings, commercial property and homes that already have solar are all gone before you pay. You only mail the most viable roofs. The best opportunities. Then every homeowner gets a letter about their home. Their roof from above, with panels on it, how much power it could generate, and what it could save. All under your brand. This isn't junk mail. It's the kind of letter that ends up on the kitchen table and gets shown to friends and neighbours. Word of mouth, started by you. Just finished an install? The neighbours have seen your van. They've seen your scaffolding. And they're already wondering what solar could do for them. Tell the Neighbours lets you introduce yourself, and show each of them the potential on their own roof, with a happy customer right next door. It's a small spend, on a street that already knows your name. The easiest place to start. Solar Mailshot is pay as you go, and we print and post every letter. Register your solar company and find your next jobs today.

Targeted Mailshot

Yours alone for 6 months.

Each home you mail is reserved for you for 6 months. It's removed from every other installer's search, so no one else on Solar Mailshot can mail it. The best roofs on your patch go to whoever gets there first.

The problem with solar marketing

Most solar marketing is built to waste your money.

Shared leads, pay-per-click bidding wars, blanket leaflet drops, cold calling, agency retainers and sales visits to roofs that were never going to work. They all have the same flaw: you pay to reach people who were never going to buy solar from you.

Bought leads

Sold to you, and to everyone else

The same homeowner is often sold to several installers at once. You race to call first, then compete on price. The lead company wins either way.

You pay for: a contact your rivals also bought
PPC & Meta ads

A bidding war for every click

You bid against every other installer for the same searches and the same feeds. Costs climb, and the people clicking were never chosen for their roof.

You pay for: clicks, not customers
Leaflet drops

Blanket coverage, highly wasteful

Flats, council homes, listed buildings, businesses and houses that already have solar all get a leaflet, and most go straight in the recycling.

You pay for: every door, viable or not
Agencies & ad buyers

Retainers that never stop

Marketing managers, agencies and ad buyers on monthly retainers, paid whether the phone rings or not. The cost is fixed. The leads aren't.

You pay for: someone else's time, every single month
Wasted sales visits

Meetings that were never going to close

Driving out, surveying, quoting and chasing homes with shaded, north-facing or unsuitable roofs. Hours of sales time spent on jobs that were never viable.

You pay for: fuel, time and quotes that go nowhere
Telemarketing

Calls nobody wants to answer

Data lists and call centre staff cost a fortune. Modern phones flag or block unknown numbers, and the same homeowners get rung by installer after installer.

You pay for: data, staff and calls that go to voicemail

Add it all up. Data, ads, retainers, leaflets, call centres and wasted visits, all paid for before a single roof has been checked. And none of it is yours alone.

The Solar Mailshot way

Only market to the very best roofs.

  • Only the best opportunities. Every roof graded A+ to C, so you can mail just the strongest.
  • Waste cut out before you pay. Council and social housing, listed buildings, commercial premises, flats and existing solar are removed.
  • You pick the targets. Total control over the properties you want your campaign to reach.
  • We print and post every letter. No printing, no envelopes, no leaflet rounds.
  • Pay as you go. Only for the properties you choose. No subscription, no contract.

All of these property types are removed to the best of our knowledge, based on the data available.

Leaflet drop

With a leaflet drop, you're guessing.

You might be leaflet dropping:

Council houses Existing solar Listed buildings Non-viable roof shapes Commercial properties Poor opportunities

…and paying to print and deliver every single one.

Pure pay-as-you-go

One install pays for thousands of opportunities.

Buy credits in packages. The bigger the package, the cheaper each letter. No subscription, no contract, and we print and post every one.

Common questions

What is Solar Mailshot?
Solar Mailshot is a UK service for solar installers. It grades every roof in your chosen territory from LiDAR roof data, removes homes that won't convert, then writes, prints and posts a personalised letter to each homeowner showing their own roof from above with panels drawn on, under your branding.
Do other installers see the same properties I do?
Until someone buys them, yes: anyone searching the same area sees the same homes. The moment you pay for a home through Targeted Mailshot, it's reserved for you and removed from every other installer's search. It stays reserved for 6 months from when your letter is sent, then becomes available again, and we'll remind you before then in case you want to follow up. Tell the Neighbours is different: it can reach any home near your job, because that's where your work is already on show.
How do you know a roof can take solar?
Every property is scored on roof orientation, usable area and capacity from our own LiDAR-built roof database, then placed into a plain grade (A+, A, B or C) so you can act on it at a glance.
What if a home already has solar panels?
Cross-checked against solar-panel presence data and removed from standard prospecting before you're charged for it. Flats, council homes, listed buildings and commercial property are removed too.
How much does Solar Mailshot cost?
Pricing is pay as you go through credits. One credit pays for one printed and posted letter, and credits currently cost between £1.30 and £2.50 each, with a lower price per letter on bigger packages. There is no subscription and no contract.
Is this a subscription?
No. It's pure pay-as-you-go. Pay per property as you build a campaign, or buy credits ahead at a better rate. No contract, no minimum commitment.
Can I use my own list of leads?
Yes. Mail Your Own List lets you upload a CSV of addresses you already have (old enquiries, expired quotes, CRM exports). We grade them and produce the same personalised mailpiece as a fresh prospect, then delete your list 30 days after mailing.
What is Tell the Neighbours?
Tell the Neighbours is a campaign for solar installers that have just finished an install. It sends a personalised letter to the homes around the job, up to 500m away, so you can show each neighbour the solar potential of their own roof. The neighbours have already seen your van and scaffolding, which makes it the easiest place to start.
Does Solar Mailshot cover the whole of the UK?
Solar Mailshot is built for UK solar installers. You can search by postcode or target homes up to 30 miles around a point, so you mail only the territory you actually cover.
