Find your next solar customers.
Every homeowner gets a personal letter showing their own roof from above, with solar panels drawn on. Under your brand, printed and posted for you.
Their roof, on your letter. See real examples
Graded from LiDAR roof data
Every roof scored on orientation, usable area and capacity, then graded A+ to C before you spend a penny.

Solar Mailshot. A new way to generate highly targeted solar leads. Built for proactive installers who want to choose where their next jobs come from. Pick your territory, and we grade every roof in it, so you can see which homes are the best fit for solar. Nearly 15 million roofs across mainland Britain, graded and ready to search. With a traditional leaflet drop, every door gets one. We cut the waste. Flats, known council property, listed buildings, commercial property and homes that already have solar are all gone before you pay. You only mail the most viable roofs. The best opportunities. And once you've mailed a home, it's yours for six months. No other installer on Solar Mailshot can write to it. Then every homeowner gets a letter about their home. Their roof from above, with panels on it. How much power it could generate, and what it could save. All under your brand. This isn't junk mail. It's the kind of letter that ends up on the kitchen table, and gets shown to friends and neighbours. Word of mouth. Started by you. Just finished an install? The neighbours have seen your van. They've seen your scaffolding. And they're already wondering what solar could do for them. Tell the Neighbours lets you introduce yourself, and show each of them the potential on their own roof, with a happy customer right next door. It's a small spend, on a street that already knows your name. The easiest place to start. Solar Mailshot is pay as you go, with no subscription, and we print and post every letter. Try Solar Mailshot, and find your next jobs today.
Every letter is made for one home.
Here's what goes into every one. Hover a feature to see it on the letter.
12 made-up installers and addresses, each on a real roof.
Then they scan it, and the magic happens.
Each letter's QR code opens a web page made for that one home: a personal presentation built around their roof and their solar estimate. No two pages are the same.
- Their roof from above with panels drawn on
- Their own figures: generation, savings and a calculator to play with
- Your brand throughout: logo, colours, reviews and accreditations
- One tap to call you, or a quote request that comes straight to you
Pick the campaign that fits the moment.
All three run on the same grading, personalisation and fulfilment engine. The only difference is where the list comes from. Just finished an install? Tell the Neighbours is the best first campaign. Ready to scale? Targeted Mailshot.

Start with Tell the NeighboursCapitalise on trust
A happy customer on the same road is the best reference you'll ever have.
Build brand awareness
Your name is already known on that street. Every letter reinforces it.
Smaller budget
Just the installation postcode, or up to 200m around it.
Highly convertible
Neighbours of a happy customer are some of the warmest prospects there are.
One install from it would be worth over 100× the campaign's cost.
Start with Tell the NeighboursInstall value is what the homeowner pays for a typical UK system with battery, not your profit. Not a forecast.
Ready to scale? Own your territory.
Claim your patch before another installer does.
Pay for a home through Targeted Mailshot and it's reserved for you for 6 months. It disappears from every other installer's search, so you're the only installer writing to that home through Targeted Mailshot.
Mail the best roofs in your area first and they're held for you, home by home. Wait, and a rival can claim them.
Your letter isn't fighting for attention
No rival's Targeted Mailshot letter lands on the same doormat. The homeowner hears about solar from you, so when they pick up the phone, it's your number they ring.
One letter, not a pile
Nobody gets bombarded by five installers in a week. Through Targeted Mailshot each home hears from one local installer at a time, and anyone can opt out of all our letters for good.
Less noise, more trust
When homes aren't flooded with marketing, people actually read what arrives. That means better replies for installers and a better name for solar on every street.
How homes are chosen and graded
Search a postcode, or target homes up to 15 miles around a point. Every residential roof is scored on orientation, usable area and capacity from our own LiDAR-built roof database, then placed into a plain grade (A+, A, B or C), so you can mail just the strongest opportunities. You choose exactly which homes your campaign reaches.
What's removed before you pay
Flats, known council property, listed and heritage buildings, commercial premises, poor roof shapes and homes that already have solar panels are taken out before you pay. Homes with solar on record (their energy certificate or Ordnance Survey's building data) come out before you pay, and every home is checked again after you order: if a home turns out to have panels, the credit comes back to you. All of these are removed to the best of our knowledge, based on the data available.
How a reservation works
- 1You payThe homes leave every other installer's search straight away.
- 2Letters go to printYour 6 months starts the day the printer accepts them.
- 3Two weeks before the endWe remind you, so you can follow up before it ends.
- 4Follow up, or let goA follow-up restarts your 6 months. Otherwise the homes go back into search.
Reservations apply to Targeted Mailshot. Tell the Neighbours letters only reach homes near a real local install, and are not reserved.
One install pays for thousands of opportunities.

printed & posted
Provisional pricing, pending confirmed fulfilment costs and VAT treatment. Job values reflect typical 2026 UK installed prices: around £7,000 for a 4kW system and £10,000 to £14,000 with battery storage (FMB, Heatable). Job value is what the homeowner pays for the installation, not your profit. An illustration, not a forecast.
Most solar marketing is built to waste your money.
Shared leads, pay-per-click bidding wars, blanket leaflet drops, cold calling, agency retainers and sales visits to roofs that were never going to work. They all have the same flaw: you pay to reach people who were never going to buy solar from you.
Sold to you, and to everyone else
The same homeowner is often sold to several installers at once. You race to call first, then compete on price. The lead company wins either way.
A bidding war for every click
You bid against every other installer for the same searches and the same feeds. Costs climb, and the people clicking were never chosen for their roof.
Blanket coverage, highly wasteful
Flats, council homes, listed buildings, businesses and houses that already have solar all get a leaflet, and most go straight in the recycling.
Retainers that never stop
Marketing managers, agencies and ad buyers on monthly retainers, paid whether the phone rings or not. The cost is fixed. The leads aren't.
Meetings that were never going to close
Driving out, surveying, quoting and chasing homes with shaded, north-facing or unsuitable roofs. Hours of sales time spent on jobs that were never viable.
Calls nobody wants to answer
Data lists and call centre staff cost a fortune. Modern phones flag or block unknown numbers, and the same homeowners get rung by installer after installer.
Add it all up. Data, ads, retainers, leaflets, call centres and wasted visits, all paid for before a single roof has been checked. And none of it is yours alone.
Only market to the very best roofs.
- Only the best opportunities. Every roof graded A+ to C, so you can mail just the strongest.
- Waste cut out before you pay. Known council and social housing, listed buildings, commercial premises, flats and existing solar are removed.
- You pick the targets. Total control over the properties you want your campaign to reach.
- We print and post every letter. No printing, no envelopes, no leaflet rounds.
- Pay as you go. Only for the properties you choose. No subscription, no contract.
All of these property types are removed to the best of our knowledge, based on the data available.
With a leaflet drop, you're guessing.
You might be leaflet dropping:
…and paying to print and deliver every single one.
Common questions
What is Solar Mailshot?
Do other installers see the same properties I do?
How do you know a roof can take solar?
How did you map and grade the roofs?
Survey planes measured the roofs from the air with LiDAR, laser pulses timed as they bounce back. From those measurements we work out each roof's pitch, which way it faces and how much of it is usable, match it to a real address, remove buildings that aren't suitable homes, then grade what's left A+ to C. Nearly 15 million roofs across mainland Britain, in one searchable map.

What is Tell the Neighbours?
Tell the Neighbours is a campaign for solar installers that have just finished an install. It sends a personalised letter to the homes around the job, up to 200m away, so you can show each neighbour the solar potential of their own roof. The neighbours have already seen your van and scaffolding, which makes it an easy first campaign.
